| February 23 Snowshoe Hike (regular if no snow) |
Skyline Parkway at Highland/Getchell to Skyline overlook parking lot 4.0 miles. This snowshoe hike will explore Keene Creek, Brewer Park and the rocky hillsides overlooking Lake Superior. A bus will shuttle hikers to the start and from the end of the hike. Meet at Bay View Elementary School parking lot. **From the south, take I-35 to the Boundary Ave.(#249)exit and turn left onto Boundary Ave. Take Boundary Ave. 1.4 miles to the 4-way stop on Vinland. Turn right onto Vinland and the school is 0.3 miles on the right. **From the north, take I-35 to the Hwy 2/Proctor exit. At the first set of stoplights, turn right onto Boundary Ave. Take Boundary Ave. to the first stop sign and turn right onto Vinland Street. School is 0.3 miles on the right. |
| March 08 Snowshoe Hike (regular if no snow) |
Britton Peak to Oberg Mountain 5.7 miles. Snowshoe through maple forests changing to spruce forests by a beaver pond. This section has several nice overlooks. Meet at the Oberg Mt parking lot. At Hwy 61 milepost 87.5, go north on Forest Service Road 336 (Onion River Road) 2.2 miles to parking lot on left. |

Castle Danger to Gooseberry Falls State Park 9.1 miles. This section features a scenic white pine ridge, Crow Creek Valley overlooks, and travels for several miles along the Gooseberry River. Great opportunity to look for spring wild flowers. Meet at the Gooseberry Falls Visitor Center parking lot at Highway 61 milepost 38.9. |
| June 7 National Trails Day Celebration Hikes |
National Trails Day Trail Opening Celebration, Lake County Demonstration Forest, Two Harbors Choose the morning hike, the afternoon hike, or both! A light lunch will also be served for all hikers between 12:30 and 2:00.**** Morning Hike 10:00 a.m. Rossini Road to Lake County Demonstration Forest 6.2 miles. This section meanders through balsam fir-aspen forests dotted with small ponds and older growth maple forests. Many small bridges cross scenic McCarthy Creek and Knife River tributaries. **** Afternoon Hike 2:00 p.m. Demonstration Forest Trails Interpretive Outer Loop 2.5 miles. This hike has numbered interpretive points and features many interesting parts of the Demonstration Forest, including the Knife River, various tree stands, and an old homestead. **** Meet at the Demonstration Forest trailhead. At Hwy 61 milepost 26.2,(in Two Harbors) turn left on County Road 2 (Hwy 2) and go 3.0 miles, turn left on County Road 12 (Hwy 12) for 2.5 miles, turn right on Holm road for 0.5 miles, turn left on Drummond Grade for 2.5 miles to parking lot on right. |

Beaver Bay to Silver Bay 4.7 miles. The hike follows the scenic Beaver River with its dramatic waterfalls. It then climbs a tall pine-studded hill and follows the ridgeline with dramatic views of inland forests. The trail continues toward Silver Bay with spectacular views of Lake Superior and rocky cliffs and outcrops. Meet at the Penn Blvd. parking lot. At Hwy 61 milepost 54.3, turn left at stoplight on Outer Drive and go 1.5 miles to Penn Blvd. Continue straight 0.5 miles on Penn Blvd. to trailhead parking lot on right.. |
| August 23 |
Lutsen to Caribou Trail 6.4 miles. After dramatic climbs, hike several miles along the peaceful Poplar River and along picturesque Lake Agnes. Follow the spur trail to a dramatic overlook of Caribou Lake at White Sky Rock. Meet at Caribou Trail parking lot. At Hwy 61 milepost 92, go north on Cook Co Rd 4 (Caribou Trail) 4.1 miles to parking lot on right. |
| September 20 |
Lutsen to Oberg Mountain 7.0 miles. A challenging hike up and down Mystery and Moose Mountains with optional Oberg Mountain Loop at the end (1.8 miles). Meet at the Oberg Mountain parking lot. At Hwy 61 milepost 87.5, go north on Forest Road 336 (Onion River Rd) 2.2 miles to parking lot on left. |
| October 4 |
Crosby Manitou State Park to Caribou River Wayside 8.0 miles. Enjoy the dramatic climb into and out of the Manitou River valley. Hike along the ridge with spectacular overlooks before traversing through a cedar forest and then along the Caribou River. Meet at the Caribou River Wayside at Hwy 61 milepost 70.5. |
